Installing the Print Client

The following pages descrobe the two ways to install the XDOC Print Client:

1.  Standard Install

2.  Silent and Very Silent Install

 

Standard Installation

1. Extract the Print Client installtaion to your desired location
   
   
   
   
   
2. Double-click or right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" for the Install_XDOC_Print_Client_v108_x64.exe file
   
   
   
   
   
   
3. You may be asked about user account control. Answer yes to that question and you will arrive at the initial install screen.  Click Next
   
   
   
   
4. Select the destination where the Print Client files will be installed.  Click NEXT
   
   
   
   
   
5. Select which components and printers to install.  The Print Client Settings App let's you easily change the settings of the print client.  You can create a shortcut to this app once installation is complete.  Once you've made your selections, click NEXT
   
   
   
   
6. On this screen, you can change how the printers are named, or just use the default names.  Once you've made your selections, click NEXT
   
   
   
   
   
7. Enter the protocol (http or https), the name of your server, and the port.  CLick NEXT
   
   
   
   
8. Choose the folder on the Start Menu where your program shortcuts will be made. Cick NEXT
   
   
   
   
   
   
9. The XDOC Print Client is now ready to install.  Click the BACK button to go back to previous screens to make corrections. If all of the settings on the screen look correct, click INSTALL
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
10. The Print Client will be installed and you will get the completion screen once done.
    
    
    
    

 

 

Silent and Very Silent Installation

1. Once you extract the files for the XDOC Print Client, open the silent.install.readme.txt file and the instructions for the silent install will appear.
   
   
   
   
   
2. To run the installer in silent mode:
   1. Set the server domain and configure other options as desired in the axInstall.cfg file
      
      
   2. Execute the installer from command line with the arguments '/SILENT' or '/VERYSILENT':
      1. Install_XDOC_Print_Client_v108_x64.exe /SILENT
      2. Install_XDOC_Print_Client_v108_x64.exe /VERYSILENT
