XDOC Print Proxy Client 2.0 – Customer Guide

Overview
The XDOC Print Proxy Client 2.0 enables users to print documents directly from XDOC virtual printers and continue processing within the XDOC workflow.
The client performs the following functions:
- Receives print jobs from XDOC virtual printers.
- Uploads the generated print file to your XDOC server.
- Launches your default web browser to continue the XDOC print workflow after a successful upload.
Installation Package
The XDOC Print Proxy Client 2.0, can be dowloaded here.
Standard Installation
- Run the XDOC Print Proxy Client setup executable.
- Follow the installation wizard prompts.

Enter your XDOC server connection information:
- Protocol (

- Port number

- Select the printer drivers and optional components you wish to install.
- Complete the installation.
Silent (Unattended) Installation
The XDOC Print Proxy Client 2.0 supports automated deployment using a configuration file and silent installation parameters.
Prerequisites
- Place the axInstall.cfg file in the same directory as the setup executable.
- Process user requires admin access.
Required Configuration Values
The following settings must be defined in axInstall.cfg:

Example Silent Installation Command
setup.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART
This installation method is suitable for automated deployment tools such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and Group Policy.

Managing Configuration Settings
Configuration settings can be modified using either of the following methods:
Option 1 – Settings Application
If installed, launch:
to update connection and printer settings through the user interface.
Option 2 – Edit the Configuration File
Modify the configuration file directly:
Any changes should be saved before restarting the client.
Uninstalling the Client
Standard Uninstall
- Open Windows Settings > Apps.
- Alternatively, open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Locate XDOC Print Client in the application list.
- Select Uninstall and follow the prompts.
Silent (Unattended) Uninstall
The uninstaller supports silent operation for enterprise deployments.
Example Command
"C:\XDOC\Client\PrintProxy\unins000.exe" /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART
Automated Removal
For mass deployment scenarios, use the provided helper script which automatically locates the installed uninstaller using the Windows Registry.

Note: Run the batch file from an elevated Command Prompt.
Additional Notes
- Uninstalling the client removes installed application files.
- Printer driver removal commands are executed as part of the uninstall process.
- Organizations using custom workflow or storage paths may manage those locations separately through internal IT policies.
Troubleshooting
Upload Fails
Verify that the XDOC server settings in:
are correct, including protocol, server name, and port.
Cannot Connect to Server
- Confirm network connectivity to the XDOC server.
- Verify that any required firewalls or security software allow communication with the configured server and port.
